HOW TO PREP YOUR TEAM FOR HEADSHOTS
Why Team Headshots Matter
A consistent set of professional headshots doesn’t just look great—it reinforces your brand’s image across platforms. From LinkedIn to your company website, cohesive portraits reflect credibility, trust, and attention to detail.
Step-by-Step Team Prep Guide
1. Communicate Expectations Early
Send your team a prep email at least one week in advance. Let them know what to expect, what to wear, and how long the session will take.
2. Choose a Style & Setting
Do you want everyone photographed in front of a solid background? Office environment? Outdoors? A consistent setting makes your brand feel polished.
3. Set a Schedule
Create a staggered schedule in 5-10 minute increments. This avoids backups and helps the session run smoothly. Be sure to buffer time for last-minute touchups or delays.
4. Prepare a Staging Area
Have a room ready where team members can do last-minute grooming or prep. A mirror, lint roller, tissues, and water can go a long way in helping everyone feel photo-ready.
5. Appoint a Point Person
Designate someone on your team to coordinate with me day-of. They’ll help wrangle people, keep things on time, and answer internal questions.
Grooming & Appearance Tips
Avoid spray tans, heavy makeup, or extreme hairstyles right before the shoot.
Encourage simple grooming—trimmed beards, clean-shaven necklines, and tamed flyaways.
Suggest everyone bring a comb, lip balm, and any touch-up essentials.
Outfit Tips at a Glance
Stick to the following basics for a clean and professional look:
Dark, solid colors (navy, charcoal, deep green, burgundy)
Fitted clothing—no oversized or baggy outfits
Bring your best blazer or suit jacket (especially important!)
Avoid distracting patterns, logos, or bright neon tones
